John Attends software testing lectures provided by Michael Bolton. Topics included “Oracles, Three sources for project information, Test Coverage, and Confirmation vs. Exploration.

John just finished a nine day visit to the Novell SRM Quality Assurance Summit in Bangalore, India. The summit topics ranged from test reporting, planning, Scrum, and Automation practices. John also met with his peer teams and got to know the team members better.

John attended at training on Novell’s latest ZENworks Application Virtualization product. He is now responsible for using the product in conjunction with Novell’s internal ZENWorks Configuration Management initiative.

John recently expanded his role at Novell by assuming management of the testers involved in the Novell ZENworks Endpoint Security Management product. He has been assigned the Product Prime for QA on the project. John will continue managing the Automation Developments for the business unit as well as the ZENworks Configuration Management QA team.

John’s three year trek of business school has finally come to an end. John officially now holds the title of MBA. Thanks to the patience of a loving wife and five children, John was able to get through the coursework that qualified him for the long coveted degree.

John was promoted to become Manager of Automation Efforts for the Novell Systems Resource Management business unit. He will work closely with SRM’s global R&D offices in Canada, Mexico, India, and the US. His focus will include automation analysis across the entire SRM Product Line. John completed an enlightening course in Business Marketing Strategies. The course was taught by Mike Parent. Highlights of the course included a brandmap’s competition and case studies.

John starts the holidays off right by completing his latest MBA class, Econometrics. Dr. Don Snyder taught this challenging class. John left the class knowing more about the properties of statistical distributions and how to test the correlation of economic data to help develop more accurate forecasts.

John finished up an advanced research methodoligies class used in the MBA program. Study included qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques for driving business research.

John’s fifth child and second son was born Monday morning at 7:30AM via C-Section. Mom and baby are now home and doing very well. John hopes that he will be able to return to a normal night’s sleep before many more weeks.
